I enjoy building replica items out of soft materials, be it a fake axe swinging towards an actress, or perhaps it is a wall that comes crashing down onto an unsuspecting cast.
Most safe prop items are made from foam, be it foamed latex, polyurethane foams, urethane or polystyrene. Some times the original items is moulded first, sometimes soft prop items are sculpted directly.
I’ve made many safe weapons and also immitation stone floors for actors to fight upon.
Movies..it’s all illusion.
